WWII US M1 Helmet Complete
Item: WWII3199

Late war M1 helmet.  Has a rear seam, manganese rim, swivel bales.  Chin straps are khaki sew-on with darkened brass buckles.  Original paint is OD with cork aggregate mixed in.  McCord manufactured shell numbered 1264G.  Fine uncleaned and unaltered example.  The liner is a Westinghouse.  Has all the straps and webbing intact.  Has a Carr marked leather chin strap with darkened brass fittings.  Liner has its original khaki paint.  No sweatband or nape strap.  It is in near mint condition.  Only anomaly is the webbing is the dark OD HBT that is normally associated with the post war period.  I found no double stamps or indications of a re-webbing, paint is original.  The liner, in my opinion, is late WWII vintage as is the helmet.  I just can't explain the webbing not being "text book".    Good looking pair that came together.
